Joan joined Osteal Therapeutics as the Vice President of Quality Assurance in January 2024. She has over 20 years of experience with increasing responsibilities in all areas of Quality in the medical device industry. Most recently, Joan served as the Senior Vice President of Global Quality for SmileDirectClub, an orthodontics product manufacturer, where she led remediation of the company’s quality system. Prior to this, Joan was the Vice President of Quality and Regulatory for the Neuromodulation business unit of LivaNova, where she oversaw all areas of Quality and Regulatory activities related to Class III implantable medical devices. Joan spent 18 years at LivaNova, previously Cyberonics, where she served in multiple global leadership roles across Neuromodulation, Cardiopulmonary, Heart Valves, Cardiac Rhythm Management and Advanced Circulatory Support business units. Joan is a member of Regulatory Affairs Professional Society (RAPS) and American Society for Quality (ASQ).

 

Joan received an MBA from Kaplan University, and a BS in Bioengineering and BA in Kinesiology from Rice University.
